My Students

My students come to me for instruction on violin, viola, cello and double bass across 5th to 8th grade. I have many different students as I teach across four different schools. My students are from the inner city schools in Evansville, and every student is so very dedicated and hard working.

Each student sees me every day for 45 minutes, and we always wish we could have more time!

The success we have had this far in the school year has been great-- students are excelling in their chosen instrument and are being empowered through the arts. They are realizing that dedication, patience, and hard work will get them the results they need for their chosen instrument. Students have realized that this work ethic learned through the arts will also help them to succeed.

I am getting to the point that I feel like I need more professional development to help satisfy all the growing needs of our student population.

What a wonderful thing to need--more development on advanced topics! My students have been working hard over the past three years to learn the violin, viola, cello, and double bass, and still have more learning to do! I need to give them these tools to succeed. My students will learn Concerti, Etudes, Vibrato, and many other advanced techniques discussed in Units 7&8 of Suzuki Violin Instruction. Students will be able to take part in orchestra, solo, and small setting instruction as they advance in the Suzuki Talent Education Method. They will also learn more sight reading different approaches to playing their chosen instrument.
