This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are an early school. We also receive free breakfast for every student. However, some students come in hungry and have two breakfasts if someone in the class did not eat one, or when we switch classes, a student may have come in late and not had an opportunity to eat. This also is a problem because sometimes the breakfast is either cold, needs another item which I do not have available to me or the student does not like what is offered. As with us being an early school, we have an early lunch and come 1:15pm, students are hungry!
This assortment of snacks would allow all of my students to eat during the dismissal process.
This typically takes anywhere from 20-45 minutes depending on announcements and buses arriving and departing. Many students also have to wait an additional 20-30 minutes once on the bus, so a small snack during dismissal would help greatly.
