My Project
It's a very unfortunate fact that more and more students have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES). These experiences greatly affect a child's brain functioning and ability to cope at school. Although teachers are well intentioned, compassionate and empathetic, we are not always trained on how to best help students with ACES. If I am able to become a Certified Trauma and Resilience Specialist, then I can support the students and teachers in my school with responding to student needs. I can also utilize this training in my role as Restorative Approaches Coach to assist students in resolving conflicts peacefully.
