My Project

I love working in special education because every student learns in their own unique way, yet they all deserve the same opportunities and quality education as students in general education classrooms. Unfortunately, stereotypes and misconceptions can sometimes prevent others from truly getting to know and understand my students. Providing books and resources that teach social-emotional learning and self-regulation skills can help students better manage their emotions and behaviors. These tools can support them in recognizing their feelings, making positive choices, and getting back on track when challenges arise. With these skills, some students may become more successful in inclusive settings and may even transition back into a general education classroom when appropriate.
