My students need 40 copies of "Edward's Eyes," our mentor text and read-aloud for our character unit.
This project expired on March 9, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Do you remember read alouds from when you were in school and how you wished you could have a copy in your hands?
Our students love to read and love to discuss their books.
Our school has a 74% free and reduced lunch rate with many of our families struggling to get by. Our own funds are limited when it comes to supporting our classroom libraries and read alouds.
My students need 40 copies of Edward's Eyes, our mentor text and read aloud for our character unit. Your gift will give our students the gift of reading and help them build their reading skills as they strengthen their reading lives. When our students have a copy of the read aloud in their hands, they are able to better build their fluency skills, cite examples from the text, and discuss their thinking with others. The classroom buzzes with excitement as students make new discoveries about their books.
Your donation will allow our sixth grade reading class to engage more deeply in reading and learn to analyze books more closely as we read and discuss them.
Our reading class will be able to achieve more and do more when each student as a copy of the book to use.
