Help me give my students books that represent who they are and provide diverse experiences! Books provide opportunities to explore who we are, who are neighbors are and how to be good global citizens. Thank you!!!
Books can serve as mirrors to the reader, an opportunity to see themselves and their lived experiences in print; a chance to see who they could become. Books can also be a window into how others live and what they have experienced.
These books will aid my students in growing into empathetic global citizens.
All of the titles selected emphasize an underrepresented population and avoid centering trauma associated with said population.
As I embark on growing my students as readers these titles, and your support, will help my students find joy in reading.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
