Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The goal of this project is to give all my students access to printing their writing during class time. While it is important that they read and respond to the text in writing, being able to see it in print in class by using the printer will assist students in understanding how their writing is viewed by someone other than their teacher.
Also, it will help students with the revising and editing of their writing.
Having monitored students during the state assessment, I noted a number of them skipping the written response questions because they had trouble typing it.
Our school platforms have students typing their answers, but they do not get to look at it in print and to revise and edit it. It becomes just a grade. Having that ability to print and get the chance to upgrade their writing is a major plus.
This will build their confidence in their ability to write effective short constructed responses and extended responses as well.
