My Students
Have you ever tried to see a cell with your naked eye? Or with a magnifying class? In case you didn't know, you can't! We need microscopes!
My students are phenomenal 5th graders who are talented, creative, and passionate about learning.
They attend a public charter school in Illinois that is home to a wonderfully diverse learning community. Over 36 languages are spoken by students at our school! Their diversity makes it even more clear that a language they all speak fluently is science.
My Project
I'm requesting microscopes and microscope slides so that my students can see, up close and personal, the intricacies of cell and organism structure. Until now, my students have only seen pictures of cells. With these materials, my students will be able to get a clear visual of the basic building block of all life.
Science is the favorite subject of many of my students, and these materials are needed to nurture their interests.
The knowledge microscopes and slides will help my students gain will inspire them to delve deeper into the world of science, and will prepare them for jobs in a competitive science industry.
