This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom environment has a growing library from which students can choose to read. I've curated this library to augment our studies of history and civics with stories that center on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
Students need to see themselves in our classroom library.
For this reason, please help me provide books that will provide history and civics lessons that put people of color front and center.
Having a diverse library provides opportunities for students to see themselves and each other in history, as well as the vast possibilities for their futures.
