My Project

We need an Elmo Document Camera that works. I teach 27 second-grade students in a new school with a limited budget. I teach young children to read, write, do math, and learn about their world. I want to look at my students during modeled lessons to gauge understanding and enthusiasm. I purchased a refurbished Elmo on my own, but it does not work correctly, making it difficult for children to see. During this first year in a new school, we are going without many basic items that most classrooms already have due to so many expenses from building a new school.

Our world history textbooks contain beautiful visuals from China, India, Japan, and North America, and an Elmo Document Camera will allow children to see the images of these places while they learn about them.

Because we only have an online version of our world history book, the document camera will allow me to project material to both 2nd-grade classrooms as we read and learn about far-away places. I can also share beautiful visuals, maps, and the locations of countries we know about.

Math, science, and writing also involve visual demonstrations that are modeled daily. A document camera allows all this to occur while monitoring the class. Children also enjoy displaying their work for the entire class to see and learn from. A working Elmo Document Camera will make this all possible in my classroom.
