My Project

The Seeing Is Believing Project is about making sure all students in my Physical Education Classes are engaged and learning!

My students are very eager to participate in Physical Education class, but I have a large ESOL population of students whose native language is not English and require IEP accommodations.

Moreover, because of the variety of students from other countries many lack knowledge of American games, health/fitness standards, and class routines.

Pull Down Projector Screens

In order to accommodate and engage all students the use of visual aids during instructional time will greatly enhance their academic, physical, and emotional performance. I have multiple classes that attend at the same time and these additional resources will allow for better productivity. The students will benefit from reading the instructions in large font to see the schedule of the class and watch instructional videos with closed caption.

So, when students come into the PE Shelter and get into their assigned spots for class, they will be able to follow along with my verbal instructions with written instructions and videos on a large screen to limit any misunderstanding from the ESOL students as to what is expected of them.

Bulletin Boards

These will be used as visual aids as a constant reminder of fitness standards, spotlight student achievement, and promote upcoming events to keep the students engaged and on task.

Classroom Posters and Bulletin Board Decorations

These will be used to create a positive learning atmosphere around the PE area to instill values that encourage all students to try their best, be respectful, work together, and be leaders!
