Do you remember your fifth grade year? Do you remember when your teacher was reading a book to the class, but you couldn't see the pictures? Well, my students have that same problem right now. They wish they could see the pictures and the words, but they just can't, not without a document camera.
My students live in a small community and are mostly from low income families.
They are eager learners who are fascinated by the world around them. They can not afford the new technologies of our world today at home, so we try offer such things to them at school. All children deserve their world to be enlightened. They enjoy learning and are eager to know more!
My Project
One awesome technological product that will enhance our classroom is a document camera. A document camera is similar to an overhead projector, but instead of projecting transparencies, the camera projects anything that is underneath it. For example, with a document camera I can project a read aloud book or colorful math worksheet. The document camera does not need a transparency or any other expensive tool.
This document camera will change the way I teach, and the way my students learn.
So many students are visual learners. This camera will allow me to spend less time creating visuals and more time perfecting my lessons so that students can learn more. The camera will allow students to learn lessons in color and really see what I am teaching them. This document camera will save me precious time and give students incredible understanding of what is being taught.
