Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are located in one of the elementary schools in our district. The students are in pre-K through 8th grade. Every spring I get to work with all the students in the building with technology integration and fun programs. In the spring we focus on building the school community, starting around Read Across America Week.

This year we are a little different since we are separated but still trying to do school wide fun.

My students light up, laugh and enjoy themselves with our assemblies and school wide activities. We all need to laugh and light up a little more with the current state of the world.

My Project

This is a crazy time for the world and an even crazier time for teaching. Since we have been taking a pause from brick and mortar schools, I have been working on professional development for new ways of teaching old concepts. Fellow teachers and I want to work with Google Meet or another video chat program to continue our PLCs while we are away from each other. All the challenges of video chatting at home are compounded by not having a computer with a working web camera at home.

I want to take this time and indulge in webinars and face-to-face virtual meetings to prepare me for teaching online.

I believe I have a lot to share with other educators but I am looking to learn from them also. This is all foreign territory to us all and since we are all in our own houses it is a great time to learn from each other.
