Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hi! I am a first grade teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina. I teach in a low-income school with many students on free or reduced lunch. I am eagerly anticipating my next group of wide-eyed students.
I was very fortunate to have received a donation from DonorsChoose last year called Seeing is Believing. The grant was for an ant farm, a butterfly garden, and a tadpole hatchery. My class last year very much enjoyed watching the life cycles of each animal. We learned a lot about life, and about death (our tadpoles didn't quite make it to frogs), and about letting animals go into their natural habitat.
As August rapidly approaches, I would love to share the excitement of animal life cycles with my next group of students. In this proposal, I am asking for refills of ants, butterflies, and tadpoles. I am also asking for a ladybug kit, see-through bird houses that suction to the window, and child-sized stethoscopes.
I can read books about ants, butterflies, ladybugs, birds, and frogs to my class, but nothing compares to actually seeing the changes animals make. I know these items will add much excitement to my science center!
Thank you for reading my proposal and making an impression on my class.
