This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I teach special needs students. Students seem to respond better when the worksheets are in color, especially when learning about money. It is really hard for them to tell a penny from a dime when the worksheet is black and white. We also print out environmental pictures in color so the students can better locate supplies need for projects.
I love how hard my students work and how excited they get when they receive a color worksheet to complete.
My students have to overcome so many obstacles everyday. My students vary in ability as well as mobility. Some of students can verbalize, some can not. Some of my students can walk, others are in wheelchairs. However, they all have one thing in common, they love seeing color and get excited when they see color print. They also love to learn.
My students also need a safe place to put their belongings. Sometimes things disappear from the classroom. They locks will ensure that their belongings are safe.
