Seeing Clearly from the Back of the Room

My students need document camera to be able to see more clearly the work that is expected of them. A document camera also allows students to share their work with the class.

My Students

Learning is supposed to be engaging, hands-on, loud, and messy; but most of all it is supposed to be fun.

My third graders are starting to learn the importance of taking ownership in their own education.

Most of their school career they have been in a Title 1 school, but this year the school lost their Title status. This will be a big change for my students as they will not have resources they have had in the past. My students come from varied backgrounds and family lives.

My Project

Class sizes are getting bigger and classrooms seem to be getting smaller; imagine sitting in the back of that classroom and the teacher is holding up a worksheet to explain what to do and you can't see anything but a white piece of paper. The use of a document camera in the classroom will allow all students to see the assignment and allows the teacher to clarify questions and misunderstandings before students begin their work.

A document camera also allows students to share their personal work with the rest of the class and peers can see the examples clearly.

Being able to share work brings ownership to learning and it motivates kids to work harder and try new things.
