My Students

My school has been serving K-6 students, both military dependents and local residents, since 1956 as part of the Hawaii State Department of Education. My classroom integrates a remarkably diverse population that includes Filipinos, Caucasians, African-Americans, Samoans, and Asian-Americans.

I am an elementary school special education teacher, teaching students where small groups, close proximity, and acceptance is very important.

My students range in abilities and grade-levels, which makes my classroom a fun and unique environment to be a part of.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my students' learning and improve their lives at school by allowing them to be independent, tech savvy, and careful users of technology.

Technology I am requesting:

iPad Mini- to replace my personal iPad Mini that students are already using to explore with educational games, apps, videos, and websites.

iPad Mini Cases- to use with my personal iPad that they will continue to use (but be protected) and also for the new iPad Mini. One includes a keyboard so students can have the option to play with the different features the Mini provides (touchscreen or physical keyboard).

Bluetooth Speaker- to use when I am working in small groups with students to show educational videos or clips throughout mini-lessons I conduct in either math or language arts.

Charger/ Charger dock- to have the ability to charge multiple machines at one time with their own cord.
