Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are wonderful students, with inquiring minds, always yearning for more. They all work very hard and are proud of their accomplishments. I see many of them have a passion for science, which is a subject that involves many hands-on activities, labs, cooperative group work, and interactive technology.
My students are limited in resources that will greatly enhance their learning experience.
There are many projects and activities on the web that I strongly feel my students would greatly enjoy, but they don't have many of the supplies they need to accomplish these goals. With ample materials, I can just imagine what they are capable of creating, of inventing, building, and then later applying to the real world!
My Project
Seeing interactive body systems, the process of photosynthesis, how runoff works in farms and ranches, can not only be engaging for my students, but they will see how technology falls into their learning capabilities. Instead of worksheets, they will be seeing how other methods can facilitate their education.
By having an iPad and Apple TV, not only can I display the images on the screen, but I can also walk around the classroom, making sure all students are fully engaged.
I can display images, that can only be seen on the web, without having to print out worksheets. Students will enjoy learning even more.
