Our school in Gorham is a fast-growing community, between urban cities and rural towns. Teachers, and families, and the community work together to create a learning environment for all students. Students work hard with traditional reading and writing. Oral sharing and participating are a big part of the daily activities in a classroom.
As a Technology Integrator, I look for the best practices in technology and share them with teachers and their students to boost both teaching and learning.
I work with all of the elementary classrooms, kindergarten through grade five, in the three elementary schools in Gorham. I encourage the thoughtful use of technology and the easing of teacher comfort and the integration of these new ideas. This project will potentially impact the 415 students at our school.
My Project
With a tripod and a microphone, students and their teachers can make recordings of many learning opportunities throughout their day - to share with other students, share with teachers and to share with their families.
Teachers can record math lessons and science experiments, students can record their learning, all can be shared and watched again later, or at home.
This equipment can be shared by teachers in all subject areas and moved between classrooms to make recordings of lessons which their students can re-watch multiple times and can watch from home.
