Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Our third grade class is kindly requesting your support in our effort to provide every student with a set of multiplication flash cards. While we strive to teach a conceptual understanding of multiplication, it is also necessary for students to master basic facts. Our students need regular practice with multiplication facts both inside and outside the classroom. Unfortunately, a staggering 84% of our students come from socioeconomically disadvantaged homes. In addition, 74% of our students are English learners. Despite these obstacles, parents have indicated a strong desire to support their child's learning at home. Multiplication flash cards serve this purpose beautifully. Students can use the cards for review in class and take them home for family practice. Parents are able to help their child in the primary language. Ultimately, our goal is for every child to be proficient in multiplication facts 0-10 by the end of 3rd grade. Your contribution to our project will help support learning in the classroom and in low-income homes.
