My Students

I work with students who are diagnosed with speech impairments, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder and other health impairments this year. My students are from ages 5 to 7. All of them are English language learners who might not have attended a full-time school before. Most of them live in homes with non-English speaking parents or caregivers.

They are eager to come to school and truly show passion for learning, especially with assistance or support.

They are curious about surrounding environments. They love to explore at their own pace. Your donation truly makes a difference. Thank you for your support.

My Project

My students conduct more productively when they are engaged in game-playing and hands-on activities. These activities provide visual cues, sentence starter skills, capabilities in matching letters with its correspondent sounds and vocabulary builders. The variety of literacy center games allow my students to choose where and whom they prefer to be. It also encourages the students to accomplish the challenge and get benefit from the games. It enhances the sense of belonging to all types of learners.

By donating to our project, you will provide my students with special needs essential support: visual support, hands-on experience, choices to pick what they need, sense of welcoming and belonging, touch stimulation, partnership, interaction with other peers, decrease disruptive behaviors and focus and refocus ongoing instructions.

During literacy center time, the students can pick and choose a game to practice the skills they need alphabet recognition, letter-sound correspondence, sight word recognition, sentence structures, and vocabulary development, etc. These center games can make learning fun and inspire the students to reach their full potential.
