Help me give my students hands-on and visual materials for a deeper understanding of the English language and math. File folder games and teaching tubs are hands-on and work wonders for kindergarteners and ESL learners.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! They are like little sponges and the more information I can present within their learning styles, the more they soak up.
Our students are an amazing group of kids that are kind, generous (even when they have so little themselves), and humble.
Regardless of what may be going on outside of the classroom, it is very rare for my students to come to school not ready to learn. They are so determined and so excited to learn. They clap after I read a good story and they ask almost every morning, "What are we going to learn today?" They have a very strong growth mindset and while I know I help create that atmosphere, they adapt quickly and fall right into the learning.
My Project
I am very excited about this project because the materials in it are to push students past the fundamentals and into decoding and operations. I chose the file folder games because the are items that I can use in a small group with students to teach concepts but then I can also send them out to practice on their own with the SAME materials.
We are reading and it is time to deepen decoding skills to move to grade level.
The learning tubs are for blends, digraphs, and vowel sounds. Beyond letter names and sounds, these areas are key to decoding and decoding is key to reading. With my students being 5 and six and our school at 85%+ ESL population, the learning tubs not only give them the visual assistance they need but they also are amazing for increasing vocabulary.
I have also chosen math folders and manipulative for the same reason. Sometimes we forget that 2+2=4 is something we had to learn one day. I have chosen preK and kinder math resources to support hands-on and visual learning as well.
