My Students

Our school district is in the foothills of the Western Maine Mountains, comprising 3 Pre-K-8 schools and one high school. One of the joys of my position, teaching at all four schools, is watching the students grow up and transition from one level to the next.

One of the most important take aways that I would like my students to have is a love of music.

From the joyful beginning in kindergarten to the high school student finding music as expression and a different window from which to view the world, music unites us.

My Project

Digital resources help students learn to read music in a fun, collaborative way. As a group in class, students gain confidence, and experience camaraderie reading music with digital resources. If our schools change to remote education, then our students will be familiar with these technologies and can continue their improvement. Their transition will be seamless.

Having songs to sing that are meaningful, in just the right key and range, and without a long wait, is fabulous for students!

This is a difficult time to be a chorus member, but having the ability to purchase appropriate music to study and sing helps build us for the future. We are unable to perform at this time, so the increased repertoire brings joy!
