Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever wanted to help a group of students who are in SERIOUS need? I have a beautiful class of students from an impoverished rural area on the outskirts of Bakersfield. Many parents and students work in the fields, collect recycling, fix up donated clothes or found items to sell at a flea market—all to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads. These kids have parents who WANT to support them but simply don't have the means. Here's where you come in.
Your donation means that our Technical Theater program can expand to allow more students to learn how to operate light and sound boards for our theater!
We have done so many things at the school level—like work on a large stage, put on a full-length show, and teach some of our students technical theater skills—with the help of our generous district. However, technological devices, such as Chromebooks for the Tech Class, are just the thing we need to take our program to the next level!
My Project
We have had such a great response from donors in helping us expand our Theater program. You are helping develop the tech leaders of tomorrow. The Tech students need access to videos, tutorials and trouble-shooting techniques to enhance their technical theater learning.
To really add the finishing touches, we need a Secure Charging Station to keep our laptops ready to go!
We might be in the booth, up in the catwalk setting lights, or down on the stage connecting microphones. We are always on the move in the Theater, and the technology has to be ready to move with us.
