This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach Drama in a low-income, high-risk middle school that feeds into a high school with one of the highest drop-out rates in the county.

Last year I was thrilled to actually be assigned one drama class to teach, and this year will be even better because 20 of the 32 children from last year's class will be joining me again for a second year drama class. The problem is that we exhausted our resources last year and this year I will have to fly by the seat of my pants even more in order to give my students a more advanced theater curriculum.

In my search for a solution, I came across this workbook, An Introduction to Theater Arts: A 36-week Action Handbook, that has a fabulous array of activities to keep my students engaged and moving forward toward a higher level of self-esteem and into a world of possibilities for careers in the theater world.

Please consider making a donation to support this class and classes in the years to come. The purchase of this class set of workbooks will enable me to teach a second year drama class this year and in the future. Because of our school's restricted budget and the lack of community interest in arts programs, the students in my drama classes are getting what is likely to be their only exposure to the theater in their lives. Please help me to give them the opportunity that I know they deserve!
