Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a school that has a 98% poverty rate. It is integral to teach students in a way that fits their learning style while connecting to their lives and interests. As a teacher, I try to supply my students with everything they need to help them become terrific learners and people.
We have gotten off to a great start, but want to make sure that we keep supplying our students with everything they need to address the learning loss they faced during the beginning of the pandemic.
My students deserve the best possible chance to succeed.
My Project
Help provide my students with materials that will help them learn in a safe and focused way in the classroom. A TeachersPayTeachers gift card allows me to buy necessary resources for students to use during centers or for extra practice on their own. Fidget bands for chairs and bracelets help students who need to get some movement out in a safe and quiet way. Tennis balls will be used to silence chairs so students can work quietly without hearing a pesky squeak. Tissues, masks, and pencils are always necessary supplies that are needed throughout the school year to keep our students healthy and safe! In addition, fun learning games for math help students work on their math fluency without even realizing that they are doing so!
