I am a 2nd grade classroom teacher at a suburban New York City school. My students are from various parts of the city and from various socioeconomic backgrounds. They would benefit from a variety of resources to tap into their unique learning styles. I strive to light a spark in each of my students.
My students come to school each day excited about learning and eager to be challenged.
They are each unique in their own way, with various learning styles. With those various learning styles comes various needs and challenges that must be met. Their inquisitive minds and smiling faces make every day worthwhile.
My Project
My students will be able to have the resources they need without waiting for weeks on end to receive copies. Having a photocopy machine in our classroom would enable students to have enrichment and strategic support activities as they need them in all subject areas, and they will have copies pertinent to the reading, social studies, and math lessons being taught in a timely manner as opposed to having their copies weeks, sometimes months, after the concept has been taught. Having extra print cartridges will avoid having to purchase new ones at a higher cost when it runs out.
Funding of this project would greatly improve my ability to light the spark in each of my students.
It will enable me to provide my students with invaluable resources they need, when they need it! Having a copy machine in our classroom would allow students to receive both strategic support and enrichment activities thereby allowing me to reach all my students, regardless of their academic ability. I would then be able to provide resources at multiple entry points in a timely manner.
