This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is in a low, social economic neighborhood. We have 80 percent ELL students on free or reduced lunch at our school. Many parents hold more than one job to make ends meet. The students are eager and ambitious to learn despite the limited language knowledge and resources. Class supplies and materials become crucial specially for second graders. These motivates them greatly and facilitates the learning process. Major gains are the result of resourceful classrooms full of great supplies and materials readily accessible.
My Project
I am requesting for tablets and technology materials for individual student needs. The students can use them to specifically target their areas of difficulties. These class resources create a motivated learner, which has proven to be effective and engaging while in the learning process.
Learning with technology in the classroom is required to increase their individual Reading skills ability.
My students become eager to use technology everyday, but that's not possible all the time. Students show major gains when incorporating individualized technology in the the learning process.
Exposure to new technology also opens a whole new horizon for learning too.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
