My Project
When you think of school supplies, you probably don't think of snacks! However, snacks are an important part of our day! Seeing how our lunch is at 10:15am, we're back in class by 10:45. We play from 11:45-12:15, then we're in our small classroom until 2:40pm. That long stretch of day seems nearly impossible without fun and food! It was in this stretch of time together, food sharing, that we cooked up a fun idea! See, we are super lucky to have an amazing student from Nicaragua in our class! We have had fun sharing lots of delicious & popular snacks in America with her and learning about her culture. She, like seemingly all 2nd graders, loves Takis the most!
We would like to take it further and share a sampling of popular American treats with all of the students in our school from other countries!
We took a vote on our favorite snacks and would love to let every immigrant student try some and share with their families. With the help of The Center for Disaster Philanthropy, hopefully we can bring this project to life!
