Student engagement is one of the most important elements of a classroom. When your students are engaged, they are constantly learning and mastering the skills needed to be successful.
My second grade students come from a low-socioeconomic background that effects their learning in many ways.
Some of my students are being raised by their grandparents and do not have access to technology or other resources to encourage learning.
My students all have a story and their own way of learning, so it is my job as their teacher to find ways to engage all of my students so they can reach their full potential.
My Project
An Interactive White Board will change my approach to teaching in our classroom. I already have so many engaging and educational resources that I can use for every subject I teach. We can even do different physical exercises to start our day.
We have a small projector in our classroom, but an Interactive White Board will save classroom space and allow my students to move around freely while they are learning.
Learning how to read and understand math equations should be fun and engaging! This will allow my students to not only learn the content, but have fun doing it.
I have some students with special needs and this will allow them to learn and grow along with their peers. Most of my students are visual and hands-on learners and I want to make sure as their teacher I am able to meet all of their individual needs.
School is a safe place for my students and I want to ensure that they are not only learning, but enjoying the time spent while they are in my classroom.
