My school serves around 450 students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Our district is committed to meeting the needs of all students regardless of their differences in abilities, interests, and learning styles. I believe that each and every child deserves a world-class education and I utilize cooperative teamwork to create a positive, student centered learning environment.
My second grade students are an enthusiastic and hardworking bunch of kiddos!
They are always ready to try new things and love tackling new challenges. They are continually exploring, experimenting and navigating through life and it is amazing to watch!
My Project
My classroom library has been a work in progress. I have spent countless hours and dollars to create a space that is warm, inviting, and cozy. My dream is to have a library that is packed with new and exciting titles for my students. Many of my books are outdated, worn out, or the incorrect level for my second graders. Building a classroom library is a challenging endeavor, one in which I need your help!
New and exciting chapter books make all the difference to developing readers!
Second grade is often when students first fall in love with reading. Adding new, high interest titles will encourage my students to grow their love of reading. It is amazing to see a child become excited about a book for the first time. I want to help ALL of my students experience that excitement!
