As a result of COVID-19 all our poor urban students have fallen behind. I have a diverse class made up of struggling readers that are far below second grade levels. Even though many of them are struggling, they are still enthusiastic about learning. They are involved in text based discussions on a daily basis.
My Project
It is important that my students read on a daily basis in order to improve their fluency. Many of my students don’t have access to books. I send home books from our class library. But, I need to protect the books as they are transported between school at home.
The baggies and storage pouches that I selected are going to allow my students to easily transport their books.
Some of the pouches will be kept in class so my students can organize their books for our reading module called Season of Change.
