Second Grade, Organized and Engaged Little Learners
Help me give my students tools to succeed in the classroom such as chair pockets to hold their materials, privacy folders to stay focused and reading pillows so they can read and be comfortable!
I am a proud teacher at a Title 1 elementary school located in Tempe, Arizona. Our 500+ students come from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds. More than 70% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch daily.
Our staff believes that all students can be successful, especially when we are able to give them the tools they need to reach their goals.
My school’s mission is focused on the learning of the whole child: academically, social/emotionally, and physically. Our staff dedicates themselves to achieve these goals. Not only do they provide rigorous instruction throughout the day, but many of our staff members teach after school clubs during the year that range from math and reading to soccer and dance. We spend time at assemblies, in our classrooms, and during community events celebrating the academic and social success and growth of our students and staff.
In order to provide the best, learner-driven environment, I am requesting chair pockets to keep students' materials out of the way and off the floor. I am also requesting tools to help with math such as magnetic math manipulatives, whiteboards and markers. Dividers and headphones help students to focus on their learning and reading pillows help create a comfortable reading corner for them to read independently.
