My Students

I teach in a first grade classroom full of diversity. Our classroom is conducive for optimal achievement through hands on activities, lots of movement, and socialization. We are always on the move, always interacting, and always learning. My student come in anxious to start the day every day.

My students are wonderful, they are creative, energetic, responsive, and willing to work everyday.

I want them to succeed from very early on in school, but I also strive to make thoroughly enjoy being here.

My Project

Flexible seating does away with traditional seating in the classroom. Some students may be more engaged while laying on the floor, sitting on a couch, or engaging their core in a wobble chair. In our classroom, we move, socialize and interact most of the day. The requested four wobble chairs, two stump seats and would corner canopy contribute greatly to the comfort, choice and movement of all of my students.

In our first grade classroom, my students enjoy making choices for themselves to include, what group to work with, what center to complete first and with these seating options, where to sit. The stump seats and canopy and wobble chairs would allow students to discover how they work best and become more independent.
