Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are eager to learn and take joy in working in an efficient learning environment. Help us equip our library with materials for our students.
Our students are brilliant children that come from challenging backgrounds.
They live in the poorest area of their city, in one of the poorest cities in the United States. They are curious, yet bashful. They are inquisitive, yet lack the confidence to grab hold of the opportunities laid before them. They need nurturing and motivation, as well as a positive environment, where they will feel excited to learn, and have fun while doing so.
My Project
My students need a clean, safe environment to sit and read, as well as to conduct research, and take online reading quizzes. The chairs that are currently being used, are old and unsafe due to the large size. Younger students often slip through the back opening, making it difficult for them focused on the lesson/reading. With these bright new chairs, not only will the library entrance be more inviting, it will be safer for our students. These chairs will provide safe and comfortable access to learning during library lessons, student research time, individual reading, as well as working on library lessons.
