Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me give my students flexible seating and high-quality drafting chairs to make our STEM makerspace more comfortable, inclusive, and inspiring. Right now, our chairs are too low for our worktables, which makes it uncomfortable for students to focus during hands-on projects like robotics builds and design challenges. We’re hoping to add wobble stools, wave chairs, and sturdy chairs that give students more choice, freedom to move, and the support they need to do their best work.
Our school is full of bright, creative kids with big ideas, future engineers, designers, and problem-solvers.
Many of our students are neurodivergent or have unique learning needs, and flexible seating is a simple but powerful way to help them succeed. Research shows that flexible seating can boost focus, increase engagement, and create a stronger sense of belonging in the classroom. It also helps students collaborate in small groups, work independently, and feel more ownership over their learning.
This project is about more than just new chairs. It’s about giving every student a space that says, you belong here, your ideas matter, and you’re supported to dream big.
