My Students

Let's get moving! The seats in our classroom are stiff and inhibit movement, which can lead to stress and fatigue. We need active seating options!

My students are energetic and driven learners.

As Montessori middle school students, they are very active and social. They have gym class once a week, recess every day, and many of our students choose movement activities throughout the day. A few students have even implemented "gym" time in the afternoon, inviting their peers to work on sit-ups, push-ups, and other indoor activities. Occasionally, they have even invited kindergarten students to expend some energy in gym!

My Project

If my students had Hokki stools and exercise balls, the physical act of sitting would become part of their learning environment. These seats will help my middle school students develop better posture and stability, while helping them grow more comfortable with their growing bodies. These seats will help my students realize that movement should be a part of learning, and will fulfill a range of developmental needs.

With active seating in our classroom, students will be better able to move, bounce, and fidget without attracting attention.

They will be better able to focus and keep their bodies moving with Hokki Stools and exercise balls.
