Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a 7th grade math teacher, I want to create a classroom where every student feels comfortable, welcomed, and ready to learn. Flexible seating can make a meaningful difference in helping middle school students feel more engaged and confident in the classroom. I am seeking donations to provide flexible seating options that will allow students to choose a workspace that best supports their learning needs.

Middle school students spend a significant portion of their day in the classroom, and having a variety of seating choices can help them stay focused and productive.

Options such as an ottoman, floor pillow cushions, and other flexible seating can give students opportunities to move while they work, collaborate with classmates, or find a quiet space when they need to concentrate. In a math classroom, where students are frequently solving problems, discussing strategies, and working together, flexible seating can encourage active participation and collaboration.

My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and safe environment where students can thrive both academically and socially. Flexible seating will help transform our classroom into a space that supports different learning styles and encourages students to take ownership of their learning environment. It can also provide students with comfortable spaces for independent practice, partner work, and math discussions.

Your support will directly benefit my students by helping me provide a classroom that is inviting, functional, and student-centered. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to creating a flexible learning environment where students can feel comfortable, focused, and ready to tackle the challenges of middle school mathematics.
