My Students

All students are special. That is what makes teaching such a great profession. It is inspiring to see them light up when they master a new concept or when they are proud of a project they completed.

The ability to close the achievement gap in our school is predicated on teachers not only having the heart to teach but also the tools needed to facilitate that learning.

21st century learning is a vision for our school.

My students come from many different cultural backgrounds. That is the beauty of our school. Our school is in the middle of the Silicon Valley. Hence, technology is an important component to our school, though our school community also believes in the arts. Music is very important to our students, teachers, and parents.

My Project

Flexible seating has been an amazing addition to our classroom. The students are excited to come to school and learn.

The tradition, plastic chairs are just not the most conducive to quality learning.

As adults, we know that sitting for hours in those hard chairs can deter from our focus. Comfortable, flexible seating options where students can choose the seat that best fits their learning has increased focus and engagement in the class.

The students also work to be able to earn privileges to choose their seat. It is not only more comfortable, but also a great motivating tool. The students will work hard and do their best when allowed to choose one of these seats.
