This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a wiggly bunch. The like to move their bodies!

This is exactly what you would expect from a group of three and four-year-old children, many of whom are in school for the first time.

Anyone who has spent time with young children knows how much energy they have and how they can seem to move without stopping all day long.

My Project

Of course, there are short times of the day where sitting still is required, such as during read-alouds or group meetings. These times can be difficult for children who feel the need to move frequently. The can become distracted by their need to move and, in turn, distract others.

I am requesting four cube chairs that would physically support children sitting in their own personal space during group times.

The chairs will help children to pay attention to the lesson rather than to moving their bodies.
