it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning environment. When students get to choose where they sit and what they sit in, it will enable them to focus more on their work. During independent work time, students will get to choose a flexible seating option and move around the room such as: getting a floor pillow and moving by a window, sitting in the quiet zone, using the bands around the bottom of their chairs to help with their jittery feet, or using a space ball to help them when they need some movement. With flexible seating, we are helping create a warm, welcoming, and comforting learning space for the students to do their best work.
When students are given a choice of where and what to sit on, they are more focused and engaged on their work.
My students seem to enjoy the learning process more when they are in charge of their seating. The products that I chose will help my students when they need some movement throughout the day. The floor pillows will allow students to sit on the floor in the warm sun, comfortably, with a clipboard to do their work. The space balls will allow students to sit around the table and complete their work with a little bit of movement. The bands will be wonderful for students who likes to sit at their desks but likes to move their feet a little bit. These different seating options will allow all my students to have a better learning environment. The headphones will help with their learning process during independent work time, our monthly tests, and state testing, where headphones are necessary.
