My Students

My third grade class is full of passionate readers, creative writers, and determined learners. These students come in every day excited to be at school and around each other. They are learning to multiply and divide, to appreciate a good book, and to solve problems in positive ways.

This group of students has captured my heart.

They celebrate each other's successes and encourage those who need support. They honestly surprise me sometimes with the thoughtful things they say and do. I am so thankful to have such an inspirational group of learners.

My Project

I learned early on that desks are unproductive places for me. From elementary school to becoming a teacher, I have done my school work at a tall table, on the couch, or in bed. I can't expect all of my students to be engaged and do their best work sitting in a chair at a desk.

Currently, my students have the choice between sitting in a chair and working on the floor with a clipboard.

With the flexible seating options I have selected, students can determine how and where they learn best. The wobble chairs allow for seated movement while the stack stools can be used at taller tables. The stability donuts can be paired with lower surfaces while the soft seats provide comfortable floor seating. Please help these sweet students find what works for them!
