This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th STEM students that will become future scientists, computer specialists, engineers, and mathematicians. To better help me and my students to organize our classroom for group projects we need lighter, more durable, and stable chairs for grouping.
Students deserve to have chairs that not only allow them to move into groups easily but also facilitates collaboration, better posture, and less back pain throughout the day.
With the new STEM curriculum, students will need to moved into different groups multiple times during lessons. Currently, we are forced to use heavily metal chairs that are difficult to move around the classroom for grouping and are outdated without proper stability.
I want our future scientists, computer specialists, engineers, and mathematicians to able to explore and become more curious as they collaborate with their peers in an environment that is safe and encourages learning more about STEM.
