I currently work in a Title 1 school where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. My classroom is full of busy and bright learners! They come in the door each morning ready to work and learn. They amaze me each year by how much they are able to grow and retain, their potential is truly limitless! One of my favorite quotes from this past year was a little boy saying, " Man! I can just feel my brain getting bigger!" As a teacher you can't ask for much more ♡
My Project
The move towards flexible seating has been a slow one in my classroom. Over the past year I switched my students from individual desks to group tables, and by the end of the year I had introduced a few floor cushions. The wobble chairs, balance disks, and floor seats will give my students a greater number of choices in the upcoming year! I could really see the potential of flexible seating on my students last year. The those students who have a hard time sitting still or sitting in the same position for long periods greatly benefited from it; and it excites me knowing that my incoming kiddos will have so many different options to choose from!
