Seating for Science Success: Dream Desks Desired

Help me give my students Easy- Access Desks. Sled Base desks encourage collaboration and fit students of all sizes and writing styles.

My Project

High school freshmen come in a variety of sizes and abilities. To encourage focus, attention and learning they must be in desks that fit their bodies. Sled desks allow access for tall, short, wide and narrow people so all are able to find a seat that functions for them. Currently, students who are left-handed are forced to sit in desks that are designed for right-handed learners. During partner activities students must lean over a metal bar to work together. I encourage students to talk over questions, solutions and support each other which is facilitated by desks that allow partner seating. My goal is for students to have seating that leads to success in learning science and to stay curious!
