Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. Since I teach at a Title I school, for many of my students, this is the only chance that they have to be exposed to books and any academic materials.

Many of the students within the school are English Language Learners and Special Education students.

Because of this, it is important to provide many different ways for the students to learn the material being presented. Many of the projects that I will be posting will help me reach this goal.

My Project

Through my time in kindergarten, I have found that many of the students benefit from having multiple seating options available to them during work time. The special education students have benefited from having the choice in how they are going to work.

The balance balls and the seated cushions will now allow even more seating choices to all my students.

I have found that when students are able to still move their bodies when they are working, they are able to focus more. I would also like to add a new carpet to my library for when my students just need a break. Kindergarten can be very tiring and sometimes they just need a quiet place to go and relax.
