Help me give my students additional seating that is new and comfortable. This chair will not only help those who can't fit into a desk but will also give them hope that their needs are met.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a suburban/urban school in the east valley of a metro area. We have a diverse, majority Hispanic student body. We are tucked into a neighborhood that was formerly mostly affluent and white. As schools in our area have closed and neighborhood dynamics have shifted, our student body has become racially/ethnically, economically, and culturally diverse.
The lack of access to materials needed to be successful is a huge problem our students face daily.
Having new chairs and furniture for students to use will increase their learning and confidence.
My Project
By having a new chair in the classroom, I can provide a comfortable seat for those students who are larger and have a hard time fitting into a regular desk. By giving them a sense of belonging, they will be able to participate fully in the lessons and be more engaged with their classmates on projects. When a student feels left out or that their needs are not met, they withdraw and tend to do poorly in school. Providing alternate seating to meet the needs of the few students, will give them the confidence they need to succeed. Support the whole student!
