Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have a love for learning! They enjoy moving around the room and love hands-on activities. I would like to provide my class with multiple choices for seating.
I have an amazing group of second graders that have a desire to learn and grow.
We are a Title i School, where the majority of our students receive free and reduced priced lunches and all students receive free breakfast. They have very supportive parents that want the best for their student.
I would like to provide them with the opportunity to make their own choices and foster a sense of independence while being engaged in their learning.
My Project
I would love to be able to provide my students with more than one option for seating. I believe that they will be more engaged in the activities and have a greater sense of creativity.
Allowing choice builds a sense of empowerment and increased engagement.
Portable desks will allow the students to enjoy reading and working around the room while still having a surface to complete assignments. Stools will allow of choice of seating while still wanting to sit at the table. Clipboards will allow the students to complete work while moving around the room. Providing my students with the power of choice will allow them to be more involved in their learning.
