Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are excited about learning and come from a variety of backgrounds. This year I am helping my students find a way to organize their materials in a way that makes it easier to find the next time they would like to use it. The visual appearance of how and where things are stored is important to both me and my students because we use many picture clues alongside the words since many of my students are just learning to read.

By having a storage bench shelf in the classroom, students will have an additional space for seating and a great way to help organize classroom equipment.

This will help to open up the classroom and give it a more spacious feeling. This will also work well with my flexible seating that is already in place in my classroom on a daily basis.

When the classroom itself is more spacious and organized, it makes a stronger learning environment for my students. When young children see how things and items can be organized, it gives them a clear picture of sorting, patterns, and visual cues of the world around them. With the additional seating, I hope to use it within my classroom library area while also storing classroom materials.
