This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 2nd grade students are amazing children overcoming some difficult obstacles. Most come from humble homes and I want to provide as much as possible while they learn. Our school is a Title One school needing your support. My students ask for very little and I want to support them as much as I possibly can. One way I can help is by creating a comfortable environment for learning. They spend more time with me than they do at home and I would like to create a space where they can choose the seat that comforts them most.

My Project

Imagine it, time to cozy up with a good book. You found the perfect novel and it’s time to snuggle into the perfect spot to relax, unwind and let your imagination run wild. But wait! There’s nothing but the hard, carpet-covered, concrete floor and brick wall for support. What if we could provide a true place of comfort so student minds can focus on the adventure in their hands rather than the cold, uncomfortable slab hurting their backside? The flexible cushioned seating will provide an escape from the daily discomforts students face in the concrete jungles we call school. Will you help create a seating sanctuary for my classroom, please?
